StandFirm Im glad your using your logical skills, after all how do you really know if this is correct or the bible differs from another bible etc if you can only examine material from WB&TS and nothing else?. You remind me of the old me and I dont regret what I did.

who can prove that witnesses are specifically told not to post on websites about them?.

Yeah things would be a lot different now like trinity because he only used the kj bible, I wouldn't put it that he is a satanist lol, he sure knows how to make a point like it or not, and we all know the bible is not what its made out to be, but regarding biblical texts - leviticus and romans see what he says about it.

Is life a black comedy?
by Joey Jo-Jo induring the normal working day routine something occured to me that has been in the back of my mind for some time.. during bible times, scriptures dont appear to have a sense of humour, i believe its because life was (and his) serious, they were very dependent on what they made and ate, life must have been tuff, no diswashers, no cars, no gas or electricity etc.. fast forward to today, we work for the rest of our lifes but confort standards have increased, we have a huge selection of foods and entertainment, we go home to spend time with our loved ones, watch tv not realising in our own little way we have been condition to think during these years, that we dont think about tommorrow-death, we can suffer from some disease, the animals we eat suffered for our pleasure of eating meat, still in our time people die from starvation, natural disasters, crimes and war.. reality bites, dont know who said that but its very true.. and while my dad prays before dinner for god to help all brothers, "brothers" suffer, die, and others still die of starvation.
if i was ever going to reconcile the bible with reality, the same question that turned bart ehrman into an agnostic "why does god permit suffering" the most logical conclusion (and while faulty)i can come up with is that god is impartial, as it says it rains on both the good and the bad.
since the bible is faulty i could go one step further and say by what i see around, that while the creation of life (plants, animals etc) are intelligent, what or who ever created us either forgot about us or does not us to know, or does not want us to understand at this time.. when watching the royal wedding, watching the priests and royalty, i wonder how much blood and sacrifice went into all that gold and monarchy wealth.

Reading into ancienty history one thing that stands out is human nature, indeed visions are short sighted by kings that in the name of God conquered nations only for those nations later on to claim independence, when humans have power they do really stupid things and continue to, our economy system (economy, most misleading word in all language vocabularies) is not benefitting everyone (it could).
You can see where I am going with this, I dont want it to drag on but being an ex jw, we can still see people living a lie in many cults and while out we have the freedom, there are still human aspects that in-slave us like nationalism, this economic system that needs a global revolution, and while that wont solve all problems....life is still a big joke.

Dont want to hijack this thread, but its very clear at least to me, there are fobias, satan is ruler satan will turn you against everyone, satan will cause you to speed in your car causing a big crash etc..or demons are there to get you. And then there is the real deal but its not someone that is chasing after you so to speak.. I have said this in a lot of other demon threads but these threads are like a slap in the face, its like you know its saturday and someone passing by says no its SUNDAY!! errg k "Hey dont mind me im on my meds" And people who do have these experiences dont bother posting because they have better things to do. Somewhat this is a know-it-all jw attitude, its only when you leave that you become a ah! so I though I knew it all but didn't know anything.

Sab, we do have something in common lol, my parents also said to say jehovah and demons would run away lol.
Ok some things a want to point out, I dont believe in fobias such as satan is attempting you or thinks like that (I did like Paul), but I did experience some things that even saying jehovah didn't do any good..and it wasn't sleep walking, I just think your talking about two different things.

HEAR YE HEAR YE: DID STEVE UNTHANK'S LEGAL ACTION CAUSE MORE THAN A RIPPLE?
by steve2 inhear ye, hear ye, there's not much to report..... a few weeks ago, we were alerted on this forum to australian ex-jw mr steve unthank's pending legal proceedings against the watchtower society on the grounds that the society - alone among organized religious groups - had refused to comply with the state of victoria's 2007 legislation requiring all those who work with children to undergo police checks.
those of us who read more widely noticed the inflammatory religiosity of the edict mr unthank furnished for the court's pleasure.
in trumped up language befitting someone who seemed to think he was destined for an important role in the scheme of things, mr unthank demanded that the watchtower society apologize - and the wording suggested he expected the society would indeed be orderedvia the court to apologize to a worldwide audience.
